2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Review – US News & World Reports

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a standout luxury car, thanks to its potent powertrains, opulent interior, strong safety scores, and an above average predicted reliability rating. Its infotainment system, however, is a bit dated compared to some rivals’ systems.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a Good Used Car?

The 2016 E-Class is a great used car, it has an upscale cabin, a comfortable drive, and roomy rear seats, and its diesel engine gets excellent fuel economy. However, its handling isn’t as agile as some competitors, and its COMAND infotainment system lacks certain features and isn’t as intuitive as other systems on the market

Used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Performance and Interior

The E-Class comes standard with a turbodiesel 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 195 horsepower. It has several more-powerful engines to choose from, with the most powerful being a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 that makes 577 horsepower. A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard along with rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available. All E-Class models have exciting acceleration from a stop and good highway passing power.

The diesel-powered E250 gets 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, which is better than most other luxury midsize cars. The E350 and E400 both get 20/28 mpg city/highway, which is typical for the class.

The E-Class’ ride is comfortable without being overly cushioned. It’s no slouch on back roads, but it’s not as nimble as competitors, and its steering lacks the heavy, precise feel of a true sport sedan.
