Failing Fuel Pump
A known problem with the Porsche Cayenne comes from the potential of having the fuel pumps fail early in the vehicle’s life. The result will be somewhat obvious, as the lights and electronics will operate but the vehicle either won’t start at all or won’t go bar because the fuel pump cannot continuously run and deliver fuel to the engine.
There may be ways to detect a failing fuel pump, including hearing a whining sound. We suggest bringing your Porsche Cayenne to use at Holland Auto Care for regular maintenance so we can handle many of the parts of auto maintenance which you don’t have time for.
Coolant Leak
The Porsche Cayenne has been known to spring a coolant leak, especially from the thermostat housing. The largest issue here? The Cayenne is a serious performance machine and is designed to drive hard – having a coolant leak means you need help right away.
Holland Auto Care can help detect and solve this problem. Your thermostat housing might need resealing or replacing to keep the good fluids inside and moving throughout your engine to absorb some heat.
By the way, aside from noticing the heat rising in your engine, you might also detect the color of coolant on the ground beneath your vehicle. Take a look at your user manual to see what color to look for.
Premature Brake Wear
We’ll be fair here: While Porsche is intentional about what kinds of brakes they put in their SUVs, some customers do just drive hard. Some customers have reported both the original repair and OEM replacement brakes wear out pretty fast. We’ll inspect the vehicle to ensure the braking system has the right tolerances, as parts coming even a little out of alignment can have a major impact on how quickly the brakes themselves wear out.
Ignition Coils and Spark Plug Problems
Spark plugs and ignition coils do wear out eventually, but some Porsche owners have also said they have had their spark plugs cause performance issues earlier than expected. We also suggest the possibility of enthusiasts making modifications to their engine as part of the problem.
Bring your Cayenne to us at Holland Auto Care and we’ll inspect and test your Cayenne to see if the spark plugs are part of the problem – or diagnose other issues which are making your sport SUV run abnormally.
Conclusion
The Porsche Cayenne is a fun, comfortable, and sporty SUV which makes many of our customers happy driving enthusiasts. We like driving enthusiasts ourselves, and aim to help them with the regular maintenance their Cayenne needs to keep on the road. We offer top-notch service, Porsche expertise, and loaners or a shuttle service to keep you moving while your vehicle is being maintained by our experts.
